The Non -State Actors Secretariat in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development has on Friday July 31st 2015, launched the Citizen's Budget at the Main Conference Room of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development.

In a bid to strengthen public financial management by way of consolidating government’s receipts and payments through the banking system, government through the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, is on the final leg of implementing a Treasury Single Account (TSA) and Consultant Experts say it will be up and running in the next 6-8 weeks.

The Non- State Actor Secretariat in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development (MoFED), has on Tuesday 14th July 2015 held a one- day Regional and District NSA Focal Persons Information Sharing Platform on the call for Concept Notes Adverts at the District level, at 6th Floor Ministerial Building Conference Room.

The Public Financial Management Improvement and Consolidation Project (PFMICP) in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development (MoFED) in collaboration with the National Public Procurement Authority ( NPPA), has on Wednesday 24th May 2015 held a pre-legislative meeting with members of Parliament to review the National Public Procurement Act 2004 at Committee Room 1 in Parliament.

The Partnership Program for Talent Mobility was one of the High Level events of the 2015 Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank (AfDB) concluded at the Sofitel Abidjan Hotel Ivoire in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire, May 25 – 29, 2015. Addressing a multi-national audience of Ministers, Diplomats, and representatives from the World Bank, AfDB, and the Private Sector, Dr. Marah highlighted the opportunity that Africa has to utilize its human resources to boost competitiveness and foster development cooperation. “Talent Mobility is strategic to Africa’s transformation, and nurturing talents remain a central and key business strategy for economic growth on the continent,” he said

The Non- Governmental Organization [NGO} Unit in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development [MoFED] in collaboration with UNICEF has on Thursday 9th April 2015 kicked start a National consultative workshop on the review of 2009 Non- Governmental Organizations policy Regulation at the Atlantic Hall in Freetown.

The role of civil society takes center stage in public transparency; nowhere is the call for supply side accountability more prominent than in fragile states.It is in agreement with this principle, that the Chair of the g7+ and Sierra Leone’s Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Dr. Kaifala Marah has taken the initiative to engage civil society groups in Sierra Leone that have interest in budget issues.
