The Development Assistance Coordination Office (DACO) in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development( MoFED), in collaboration with the Public Financial Management Improvement and Consolidation Project(PFMICP) has ended a week Regional training for Monitoring & Evaluation Officers and Development & Planning Officers in Devolved MDAS and Local Councils on the rolling out of the new and upgraded version of DAD to Ministries, Departments and Agencies. The training was sponsored by the Public Financial Management Improvement and Consolidation Project through funds donated by donor partners.

The Public Financial Management Reform Unit (PFMRU) in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development ( MoFED) has on Monday 29th August 2016, held a one day sensitization workshop on the Public Financial Management Act 2016 at the Miatta Conference Centre.

The Government of Sierra Leone is currently working towards developing an Enterprise Risk Management Policy and has received technical assistance from the Commonwealth Secretariat in that direction. 

Twelve Non- State Actor (NSA) Organizations from the four regions of the country have been awarded grants to the tune of USD 100,00 for projects to strengthen on-going Public Financial management reform efforts. The award of the grants was announced during the launching of the 2016 citizens guide of the budget at the main conference hall of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development.

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development under the Public Financial Management Improvement and Consolidation Project ( PFMICP) at MoFED, on Tuesday 3rd March 2016, started the Integrated Financial Management Information System(IFMIS) roll- out to eight additional Ministries, Departments and Agencies ( MDAS) who were not using the IFMIS before this time.

A joint Implementation support and Review mission consisting of World Bank(WB), African Development Bank(AFDB), and the UK Department for International Development(DFID) was carried out in Freetown for the Sierra Leone Public Financial Management Improvement and Consolidation Project(PFMICP) during the period February 8th- 12th 2016.

MoFED/PFMICP set to roll out IFMIS

A joint monitoring team of the Accountant General Department, Public Financial Management Improvement and Consolidation(PFMICP),Public Financial Management Reform Project, (PFMRU) and the Information Communication Technology Department of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development has on Wednesday 21st October , conducted inspection of Ministries, Departments and Agencies Local Area Network (LAN) for the Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS) roll out which is scheduled for November 2015.

The Budget Bureau Department in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development (MoFED) has on Saturday 26th September 2015, held a one-day training for the nineteen Local Councils, on the Revised Strategic Planning Template & Budget Software Module consistent with policy objectives in the Agenda for Prosperity at the J&E Resort in Bo.

The Internal Audit Unit at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development(MoFED) has on Monday 21st September held a training workshop on Internal Audit Manual for Central Auditors at the Santano House.

The Public Debt Management Unit in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development has on Monday August 3rd 2015, started a six days Debt Sustainability Analysis (DSA) on Sierra Leone at the Leone Lodge Aberdeen. The program was sponsored by the Government of Sierra Leone and donor partners through the Public Financial Management Improvement and Consolidation Project in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development.
