PFMICP awards USD 100,000 grants to 12 Non-State Actor

Twelve Non- State Actor (NSA) Organizations from the four regions of the country have been awarded grants to the tune of USD 100,00 for projects to strengthen on-going Public Financial management reform efforts. The award of the grants was announced during the launching of the 2016 citizens guide of the budget at the main conference hall of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development.

The award of funds to at eligible NSA organizations is designed to support the aims and objectives of the Non- State Actors component which is sub component 2.5.2 of the Publication Financial Management Consolidation project that is supported by the Government of Sierra Leone and International Development Association of the World Bank, Multi Donor Trust Fund (MDTF), European Union ( EU), Department for International Development (DFID) and the African Development Bank ( AFDB).

The aim of the NSA Grants was made possible by a transparent and independent grant making process that was managed by an independent evaluation agent; The Economic Forum.

The 2015 -16 NSA Grant Programme focuses on PFM related activities that include; analysis and monitoring of the government budgets and post Ebola recovery programmes related to PFM, support to advocacy activities and dissemination of information on all aspects of PFM at the national and local government levels.

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development will monitor and ensure that all NSA recipients adhere to their approved project implementation plans and spend the funds in accordance with the Ministry and donor's financial Laws and Regulations, and the Ministry/World bank's internal policies and procedures on grant recipient management.

All grantees have the responsibility to ensure that they conduct their proposed activities and deliver the products( as well as progress reports) in line with agreed provisions contained in their approved work plans and proposals.
